Barry initially joined Pradera Retail Asia in 2016 to focus on introducing new leisure concepts into the Macquarie China assets.

Barry was instrumental in agreeing the opening of Merlin’s first “DUNGEON” attraction in Asia at Mosaic Shanghai, which greatly complemented a planned redevelopment designed to enhance the mall’s status as a leading shopping and leisure destination. He also worked with a Hong Kong aquarium specialist to create a new-to-market boutique aquarium that opened a new mall in Xi’an in late 2019.

Barry relocated to the UK in 2019 to focus on identifying distressed and debt structure investment opportunities in the retail sector in the UK and mainland Europe on behalf of Pradera. He has been involved in over ten separate investment transactions totalling more than £250M in equity investment and was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Pradera Limited in 2025.

Prior to joining Pradera, Barry held the position of Director of Business Development for Merlin Entertainments Group in Asia. During his career, he has been involved with over 30 new and existing indoor entertainment projects with a combined size of over 120,000sq m, total revenue in excess of £170M and annual visitation of over 11 million.
