About

The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) is the UK’s department for economic growth. It supports British businesses to trade and grow internationally and works to attract foreign investment to the UK. It is a specialised
government body that negotiates market access and trade deals, champions free trade, and delivers an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy.

Its role is to ensure the success of UK based companies in international markets. It also works to encourage international businesses to look to the UK as their global partner of choice. The Department offers expertise and
contacts through its extensive network of specialists in the UK and in British embassies and other diplomatic offices in over 100 markets around the world.

DBT’s Retail & Luxury, and Digital Commerce divisions help retail, luxury and leisure companies with the advice and support they need to attain success internationally. They also work closely with non-UK based brands
in this space, promoting the UK as an ideal destination to set up or expand their business.
